Quarantine Public Library
Collaborative publication project
Ongoing since May 2020
Tracy Honn and I created Quarantine Public Library to address the loss of shared public space and institutional art access during the ongoing global health crisis. The site is a repository of one-page books made by artists, free for anyone to download, print and assemble—to keep or give away. The project uses a one-sheet zine format to make the books easy to print at home, connecting new audiences in over 70 countries with books by more than 150 artists, writers, poets, and scholars.
By provoking joyful interactions with printed artwork, QPL has worked to disrupt pervasive feelings of isolation throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. As of July 2021, it has raised $2,280 for digital equity initiative EveryoneOn.
